Clients often ask us to faux paint restored patches of stone to make the repairs disappear on historic building exteriors. But if the patch isn't well executed by a team that came before us there is only so much we can do. When artists sculpt the patchwork, we take great care to match the texture and mortar lines exactly so the repair work blends into its surroundings.  Here are some photos of a patch I completed on a brownstone facade uptown, while the others are from a workshop I took in the conservation shop at the Greenwood Cemetery to learn this material.
